STIs at Thailand’s International Training Center (ITC)”

   
     
  3. Inter-country Training of Trainers of TB/HIV
TB is one of the most common causes of morbidity and one of the leading causes of mortality in people living with HIV/AIDS. Combined action from both AIDS and TB programs is essential to address the problems and decrease the burdens in both affected population groups.
 
     
  This Inter-country Training of Trainers of TB/HIV designed by WHO/SEARO aims to have participants understand the WHO TB/HIV policies and strategies, including surveillance and interventions for the collaborative activities and are able to design plan of action for implementation at the national level and at their local areas.  
     
  The course contents include policies and programs at the global to country level, TB/HIV epidemiology, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, medical and behavioral interventions for effective prevention.  
     
 

Apart from the classroom sessions of lecturing, presentations, discussions, participants will be visiting the field TB/HIV programs for the exposure to the actual program being implemented. All participants will be preparing the plan of action at the end of the training based on what they learned throughout the course. Certificate of attendance will be presented to participants.   

 
     
  4. International Training Course on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Problem Alleviation
Among more than 42 million people worldwide live with HIV/AIDS, over 7 million are from the Asia and Pacific regions. New infections occur among younger population groups.
 
     
  It is critical that veteran and new generation of health professionals and program managers involved in the HIV/AIDS programs be strengthened and trained on the advance development of the epidemic and causes of problems, management of the prevention and control and sharing effective mechanisms for the prevention and alleviation of the problems focusing on the ones appropriate and practical for individual countries.  
     
  The two-week training course will cover the contents of HIV/AIDS epidemiology, surveillance system, management of the prevention, care and control, multisectoral approach, networking, resource mobilization and community involvement.  In addition to lectures, the training methods include group work, presentation and discussion, field visit and work/action plan.. Participants will receive certificate of attendance for their satisfactory participation in the course.
