Ten - day International Training course on “STIs/HIV Laboratory Diagnosis” was funded by Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency or TICA was arranged during 21 September – 2 October 2009 at Bangrak Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.  The technical support was provided by  STIs Cluster who facilitated the training venue, laboratory facilities and services of STIs/HIV lab experts.  Nine participants from Republic of Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Uganda and Thailand participated classroom lectures followed by practical skills sessions and laboratory practices.  After the training, participants had updated knowledge of major sexually transmitted infections.  This enabled them to perform skills of laboratory testing for eventual accurate diagnosis for proper treatment and other appropriate services which could utilize in their future application at their workplace.  The evaluation result was highly satisfied and recognized as the post test score was increased double in average comparing to pre test score.
